Play Therapy

Helping Children Express, Heal, and Grow

Play therapy offers children a creative, nonverbal way to explore and express their feelings. Through play, children can navigate complex emotions, develop problem-solving skills, and learn how to cope with challenges. Play therapy is especially effective for younger children who may struggle to express themselves with words.

Frequently Asked Questions

How can therapy help me or my child deal with anxiety and stress?

Therapy provides a safe space where you can explore your thoughts and feelings. With her guidance, you’ll learn practical techniques to manage anxiety and stress, understand your triggers, and develop healthier coping strategies. It’s about empowering you to face challenges with confidence and find balance in your life.

What can I expect during a therapy session for my teen?

During a teen therapy session, you can expect a welcoming and relaxed environment. I’ll focus on building trust and understanding with your teen, exploring their thoughts and feelings, and introducing evidence-based techniques to address their concerns. The goal is to help your teen feel understood and equipped to handle life’s challenges.

How do you handle therapy for children, and what methods do you use?

In therapy for children, I use play-based techniques to create a fun and safe environment. This helps your child express their feelings and experiences in a way that’s natural for them. Through play, she can address emotions and behaviors, guiding your child towards improved coping skills and emotional well-being.

What types of therapy do you offer for adults dealing with depression?

For adults facing depression, I offer therapies like Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT). These approaches help you identify negative thought patterns, develop healthier coping mechanisms, and embrace meaningful life changes, all within a supportive and empathetic environment.

How can therapy help improve my self-esteem and identity issues?

Therapy can help you build self-esteem by exploring underlying beliefs and patterns that affect how you see yourself. She’ll work with you to develop a positive self-image, embrace your strengths, and tackle identity issues. The process encourages self-discovery and personal growth, helping you feel more confident and at ease with who you are.

What is the wait time like?

I am currenlty accepting new clients!

How much does it cost?

Fees vary. The average is $200.00 per session. A sliding scale is also available if needed.

Do you accept my insurance?

Wildflower Mental Health Therapy accepts:

Blue Cross Blue Shield, Aetna, Priority Health, United Health Care, PHP, and more. Our billing department can run your insurance to check your benefits at no fee. It is also important to understand your insurance benefits before beginning psychotherapy. It is ultimately your responsibility to know if your care will be covered.

Even if your provider does not bill your insurance directly, you may have “out-of-network benefits,” on your plan. This means that you can submit a receipt to your insurance provider for reimbursement.
